What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a health care discipline which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery.The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the restoration and preservation of health.

In addition, Doctors of Chiropractic recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient.

The theory that living matter or reality is made up of organic or unified wholes that are greater than the simple sum of their parts. (Stedman’s Medical Dictionary)

Humanistic

The concept that concern for human interests, values, and dignity is of the utmost importance to the care of the sick. A system of thought that centers on humans and their values, capacities, and worth. (American Heritage Dictionary)

Scientific

  • pertaining to science or the sciences: scientific studies.
  • occupied or concerned with science: scientific experts.
  • regulated by or conforming to the principles of exact science procedures.
  • systematic or accurate in the manner of an exact science.
